"International Urantia Association is not to be confused with the spiritual fellowship of the kingdom of heaven. Yet IUA is intended to foster that fellowship, especially, but not exclusively, among readers of The Urantia Book, by means of a minimal, flexible service organization. IUA is not a religious organization, is not associated with any religion, and is not a competitor of any religion.* We welcome people of all faiths, races, and nationalities. " ANZURA is a National Association of IUA.
Our world, Urantia, is one of many similar inhabited planets.

THE AUSTRALIAN & NEW ZEALAND
URANTIA ASSOCIATION

An association of students of The Urantia Book within Australia and New Zealand has been formed. We have called the association "The Australian and New Zealand Urantia Association" (ANZURA). It functions under a constitution which ensures democratic procedures and participation on a broad level. It is a non-profit organisation and has a simple organisational structure. ANZURA is a chartered association of International Urantia Association (IUA) which is the global social readership group created by Urantia Foundation, the publisher of The Urantia Book.

Some of the main objectives of the association are to support the steady spread of the teachings through undramatic, everyday means by: placing The Urantia Book in libraries; encouraging local, autonomous and informal Urantia Book study groups. ANZURA also organises and supports annual conferences for students of The Urantia Book which are hosted by different study groups and held at different locations around the countries from year to year.

A bulletin is published on a quarterly basis which keeps the membership up to date with the activities of the association. ANZURA also publishes The Arena, a quarterly newsletter designed to keep readers at large in touch with one another and to serve as a vehicle for readers to share thoughts, feelings and inspirations relating to their study of The Urantia Book. An Annual General Meeting is held at the conference each year where the governing board is elected by the membership also, the membership fees are set for the year. Currently the anual membership fee is $30.

It is the intention of ANZURA to assist the dissemination of The Urantia Book into Australia and New Zealand without encumbering it with church, temple or other spiritual institutions. ANZURA is made up of individuals who have come to recognise the significance of The Urantia Book and the integrated beauty of its teachings, who have a natural desire to help in the dissemination of The Urantia Book. The Urantia Book encourages us to develop our own philosophy through study, experience, decisions and actions. We hold the view and recognise that, collectively there are certain things we can support and achieve together.

We therefore have pleasure in inviting readers of The Urantia Book to enquire about membership with ANZURA. A copy of the Bylaws of ANZURA and the Charter and Bylaws for IUA, and an application for membership are available upon request. Pre-requisites for full membership are that the applicant has read The Urantia Book in its entirety and supports its teachings. If you haven't finished reading the entire book you are most welcome to become a friend of ANZURA and pay half the annual membership fee which is set by the members. "Friends of ANZURA" have the same entitlements as a full member, except that they do not hold office on the governing board or vote at the annual AGM.

If you are interested in joining ANZURA please send us an E-mail with your name and your postal address so we can  post to you the Charter of IUA, the bylaws for ANZURA along with a membership form. Click here and E-mail us your name and postal address.
